The End

I think one of the best challenges when it comes to digital work with photo's is the use of light. It's always changing and very unique depending on the source, be it artificial or natural. Each one has its own distinct quality and feel, and getting it right can make all the difference in an image.
I regard it in the same sense as music or sound for video. Both influence the mood/emotional side of the visual stimulation. If you break it down in the use of 2D imaging it basically comes down to your use of colour. It sets the mood of the picture, the feel. That of course does not mean you have to always strictly sick to what is regarded as realistic. For instance, by making the light lean stronger to yellow and red I could get a bit more of an feeling of heat, which is absolutely absurd, because the only warmth you could get from viewing images on screen is that melting-brain feeling from staring at you computer monitor all day long... that and square eyes.

Show Me

This was one of the first where I started to experiment with the medium of digital manipulation and design. Blending various objects together to form something new. Starting to realise the potential of working with programs like Photoshop and Illustrator and all the possibilities that suddenly opened to me. It also became clear that there is still a whole lot that I need to learn.

Extracts from my Sketchbook

D Day: Ok, the first "official" post. These are some scribbling from my sketchbook.

They were all done either on the train or while waiting for the train. Yes, relying on public transport means one quite often have a lot of time on your hands. Especially waiting for the infamous 57 - the Bus From Hell - as Cyril officially labelled it. Normal rules of physics does apparently not apply to it, having the amazing ability of actually not existing within our understanding of time and space for extended periods [especially while I'm at the bus stop waiting]. I've had friends waiting for it in vain while bus after bus runs past stops further down the route, begging of course the question; where does it actually go? Might Cyril actually have it right? Does it return to its home world in Australia or wherever Hell is?

Hey, guess which one depicts an actual incident. If you guessed the third one you'll be right. Pic I made of me & my Squid. I called him Joe. Anyway, Joe was the best pet I've had so far, 'but what about the mess in the house?' you ask. Well, it turns out a squid is pretty easy to get housebroken, much easier in fact than my housemates. Joe was eventually killed when a car ran him over in front of the house, and let me tell you, its not easy to flush something that size down the toilet...

Anyway, I digress.

My point was, penguins make rude guests at parties - they just never leave, pitching there with their snazzy suits and what not.
